Per Utah Code 20A-6-305, Candidates are listed as they will appear on the General Election ballot.
The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. All Municipal Elections will be administered through the Washington County Clerk’s Office and will be Vote-by-Mail. The official Vote Center for Ivins City is the Santa Clara Branch Library located at 1099 Lava Flow Drive St. George, Utah. Ivins City Hall, located at 55 North Main Street in Ivins, is a Ballot Assistance Center where you may drop off your ballot. Washington County also has other designated ballot Drop Box locations and you can find that information here: https://www.washco.utah.gov/departments/clerk-auditor/election-info/ballot-drop-box-locations/.
If you are registered to vote and reside in Ivins as your primary residence and voting location, you will receive a ballot in the mail. You can verify that you are a registered voter by going to www.vote.utah.gov and FIND my voter registration info. You can then verify on TRACK MY BALLOT, that the County has a ballot that is being prepared for you. Ballots for the General Election will be mailed out through the Washington County Clerk’s Office between October 15th and October 22nd, 2019.
PLEASE NOTE: You may vote for UP TO three (3) candidates – per the Washington County Clerk’s Office, IF YOU VOTE FOR MORE THAN THREE (3) CANDIDATES, YOUR VOTE WILL NOT BE COUNTED because it is an over-vote.
There will be a CANDIDATE FORUM held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Vista School from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m and a second candidate forum on October 24th at 6:00 p.m. at Vista School. The forum is organized and sponsored by a third-party Community Action Committee.
New Meet and Greet Added Updated (09/26/2019)
In anticipation of the upcoming Ivins City Council elections, a public forum will be held on Friday, October 18th, from 6:30 – 7:30 P.M. at the Kayenta Center for the Arts (Kayenta Art Village, 881 Coyote Gulch Court, Ivins, UT. 84738). All six candidates are invited and urged to attend. The format will be as follows:
- In the auditorium, candidates will each be given 5 minutes to introduce themselves and briefly articulate their stance on several “hot topic issues” in Ivins (these will be determined through an online public survey).
- The audience will then be invited to meet the candidates in the lobby for more in-depth, one-on-one discussions.
There are three seats up for election this year on the Council. All Ivins residents are encouraged to become informed and involved in the issues that affect us all.
