Roundabouts

2008-08_Transportation_Open_House_Announcement_1Many communities in the United States such as Ivins are beginning to embrace the concept of “roundabouts.”  A roundabout is composed of a circular, raised, center island with deflecting islands on the intersecting streets to direct traffic movement around the circle.  Traffic circulates in a counter-clockwise direction making right turns onto the intersecting streets. There are no traffic signals; rather, entering traffic yields to vehicles already in the roundabout.

Ivins City Storm Water Management Plan

The Ivins City Storm Water Management Program as presented in this document is intended to indicate to the public and other affected stakeholders the manner in which Ivins City plans to comply with the storm water protection provisions of the Clean Water Act as enacted by the federal government in accordance with our UPDES (Utah Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) storm water discharge permit No. UTR090049.

Washington County Solid Waste

The mission of Washington County Solid Waste (WCSW) is to manage the solid waste for Washington County residents and commercial entities in a manner that is environmentally sound, cost effective, socially responsible, and safe.  WCSW continually works to build relationships with the business community, independent haulers, municipalities, contractors, regulatory authorities, and the general public.  Success in these endeavors is accomplished through operations of the sanitary landfill, recycling sites, household electronics and household hazardous waste collection programs, composting program, paint exchange program, and tire recycling program.  The knowledge and proper use of these services combined with our public outreach and education helps maintain the quality of life in Washington County now and in the future.

**Dumpsters are located just north of the Cemetery and East of the Public Works yard.  Dumpster Day is held one Saturday a month with the exception of Spring and Fall Clean up months when there are two.  The dumpsters are available that day on a first come first serve basis and close once full or at 3pm - whichever occurs first.

Water Quality Report

The following report is designed to provide you with information regarding the quality of water that Ivins City provides.  Our goal is to provide a safe and dependable supply of drinking water to our residents. 

Ivins City not only holds vested rights, but we purchase additonal water from St. George, Santa Clara, and the Washington County Water Conservancy.  Sources of water include Gunlock wells, Snow Canyon wells, and Quail Lake water treatment plant.
