The Ivins City Public Safety Department was created in 2001 and includes all aspects of Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue, and Animal Control.
The Public Safety Department staff includes a Public Safety Director, Fire Chief, Lieutenant, Patrol Sergeants, Detective, and Patrol Officers (who are also cross trained as Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians), Fire/Rescue Officers, Medical Training Coordinator, Criminal Administration Specialist, Executive Assistant, Animal Control Officers, and crossing guards. The Department is supplemented by several volunteer Firefighters and EMT’s.
The Public Safety Department is responsible for the safety and well being of the citizens which it serves. Duties include enforcing traffic laws and regulations, responding to calls for service, investigating crimes, maintaining the peace, taking care of animal problems, supplying information and educating the public, and responding to all fire and medical calls in the area.
The Public Safety Department works within the community and schools to educate and inform citizens regarding crime prevention, Neighborhood Watch, and other educational programs.

Ivins City Volunteer Fire Association is proud to offer the “Ivins Firehouse Grub” cookbook. The book is a collection of recipes from volunteer fire fighters, Public Safety and Ivins City employees. The cost is $10 and the proceeds provide a variety of special programs that include equipment, education and emergency assistance to our officers, firefighters and EMT’s.

In order to be proactive in getting vital emergency information to our citizens, the Ivins Public Safety Department along with St. George 911 Communication Center is utilizing an emergency communication system known as Reverse 911.
Offenses By or Against Minors including CURFEW
With summer upon us we have been coming into contact with many juveniles who have been in violation of the curfew ordinance. Curfew for youth under 16 is 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM. For youth 16 and 17 years old, the curfew is 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM!

Burn Permits Closed
The burn season is now CLOSED. The next open burn season is scheduled for this spring. Burn windows are specific periods identified by State and Federal regulations where the burning of weeds and other agricultural debris is allowed. Burn windows are established to address fire safety and environmental concerns and correspond with normal yearly weather patterns. We thank you for your efforts in keeping our city safe.

Free Blood Pressure Checks
The Ivins City Fire/Rescue Department offers free blood pressure checks to the citizens of Ivins City. We want to help citizens understand and maintain their health. Stop by the fire department from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. any day and the on-duty EMT’s will check your blood pressure and answer any questions you might have.
