Southern Utah Shooting Sports Park

The Southern Utah Shooting Sports Park Agency was formed by an interlocal agreement between Ivins City, Washington County and several other cities in the area.  The Sports Park is comprised of 513 acres located just past the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Cowboy Action, Rifle Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, and Action Pistol are the five venues that are available at the park.  All venues are open to the public and family friendly.  Each venue is supervised by a NRA Certified Range Safety Officer.  Days and hours of operation can be found at www.sussp.net.

It doesn't matter if you are a novice to the shooting sport or an experienced shooter, come by and see for yourself what the park has to offer.  December 15th and 17th we will be holding our third annual Dixie Care and Share Shoot.  Bring six non-perishable food items and shoot for free at the Rifle Pistol venue.

Tuacahn

Tuacahn Entrance

"Tuacahn" comes from a Mayan word meaning "Canyon of the Gods." Built in the shadow of 1500-foot spectacular red rock cliffs, the Tuacahn Amphitheatre and Center for the Arts was created to awaken the nobility of the human soul and transmit light and hope to people everywhere through the arts and education.

The Tuacahn Theatre brings "Broadway in the Desert" to southern Utah! Throughout the warm months, this theatre company features Utah's finest actors (new and seasoned), in some of Broadway's greatest productions! The intimate, outdoor theatre is always enhanced by the brilliant, natural redrock backdrop. A night out at Tuacahn is a night not soon forgotten! Click for this year's production schedule.

Snow Canyon State Park

Snow Canyon State Park

Among Utah's most scenic state parks, Snow Canyon offers an abundance of opportunities for photography and hiking. The park is surrounded by rock cliffs and walls of Navajo sandstone in every shade of red imaginable, layered with white and black from ancient lava flows. Hike the trails and discover shifting sand dunes, mysterious lava caves, colorful desert plants, and a variety of rock formations. You'll also encounter an attractive cactus garden, whose plants are described in a brochure, and several ancient petroglyphs (ask park rangers for directions). By the way, don't come here looking for snow -- the canyon was named for pioneers Lorenzo and Erastus Snow, who reportedly discovered it.
