Ivins City has two City Council Member positions and one Mayoral position up for election this year. These positions are 4-year terms. The qualifications to be a candidate are: (1) be a United States citizen at the time of filing; (2) be a registered voter in Ivins City; (3) be a resident of Ivins City for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election; and (4) not be a convicted felon. UTILITY RATES
$70.23 is the monthly flat rate fee for water, sewer, garbage and storm drain services. You are then billed on actual water usage, based on the rate chart below. The usage rate is graduated to encourage water conservation.

Building & Development: Recent Articles
The Building Department is responsible for administering, interpreting and enforcing all state adopted building codes including the International Building, Residential, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical Codes and all City Ordinances, policies, rules and regulations for building construction in the City.
The Building Department processes permit applications, performs plan checks, and conducts inspections for all commercial, industrial and residential structures in the City. Read more…

Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. is Gentle Yoga
Tuesday 9:15 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. is Power Flow Yoga
Thursday 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. is Gentle Yoga
Single class fee – $6.00, 4 classes – $23.00, 8 classes – $40.00
Classes will be held at UNITY Park Recreation Room located at 400 S between 200 W and 400 W. You will need to register beforehand at Ivins City Hall (55 N Main)
Taught by Kim Nally Power Flow Vinyasa – This is a class suited for those who have had some yoga experience and familiarity with a variety of yoga postures.Gentle Yoga – This class is well-suited for beginners, and/or anyone desiring gentle and restorative yoga.

Tuacahn Wash Erosion Protection Repair
Separate sealed bids for the construction of the Tuacahn Wash Erosion Protection Repair as specified by Bidding Documents may be mailed or hand carried to Ivins City, 55 North Main Street, Ivins, Utah 84738. Bids that are hand carried on the date of the Bid opening, THURSDAY, May 30, 2013, will be received until 2:00 p.m. at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Copies of the Bidding Documents, Specifications and Drawings may be obtained at Ivins City, 55 North Main Street, Ivins, Utah 84738 for a non-refundable cost of $25. The site is located on the Tuacahn Wash starting at the culvert crossing at approximately 950 East Mesa Vista Drive and thence moving upstream within the wash to the culvert crossing at Center Street at approximately 1050 East. The project consists of more than 3,000 cubic yards of rock rip rap including 119 cubic yards of gabion baskets and relocation of a short segment of sewer.
THERE WILL BE A PRE-BID MEETING AT THE IVINS CITY OFFICES AT 55 NORTH MAIN, IVINS UTAH, AT 3:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, May 23, 2013.
The Public Works Department is comprised of a public works director, city engineer, administrative assistant, field supervisor, and five public works operators.
The department is responsible for the engineering, operation and maintenance of a culinary water system, sanitary sewer collection system, storm drain collection system, and an extensive street network. Ivins City contracts with Allied Waste Services for its solid waste collection. Trash is collected every Monday. Public Safety: Recent Articles
Public Safety is in the process of getting together a class to teach CPR. If you are interested in attending, contact Jon Ward at Ivins Public Safety (435) 674-5503.
The Animal Control Specialist/Shelter Manager has been working with the community to educate citizens on the importance of spaying, neutering and vaccinating pets. The Manager also continues to educate the public on the importance of leash laws and animal ordinances. Additionally, she has developed a program that has been taken to the schools to educate our young citizens. With the addition of a part time Shelter Worker we anticipate even more community interaction and education.

The Ivins City Public Safety Department was created in 2001 and includes all aspects of Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue, and Animal Control. The Public Safety Department staff includes a Public Safety Director, Deputy Director/Fire Chief, Patrol Sergeants, Detective, and Patrol Officers (who are also cross trained as Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians), Fire/Rescue Officers, Medical Training Coordinator, Criminal Administration Specialist, Executive Assistant, Animal Control Specialist/Shelter Manager, Animal Control Worker, and crossing guards.
