The Building Department is responsible for administering, interpreting and enforcing all state adopted building codes including the International Building, Residential, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical Codes and all City Ordinances, policies, rules and regulations for building construction in the City.
The Building Department processes permit applications, performs plan checks, and conducts inspections for all commercial, industrial and residential structures in the City. Read more…

Parks & Recreation: Recent Articles

Ditch the workout and join the party! It’s fun, its fitness, it’s Zumba! We will be offering classes every Monday and Wednesday morning from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the UNITY Park recreation building.
These classes are for every fitness level and any age, you can go at your own pace. The music and dance routines are fun, clean and positive in a comfortable atmosphere.
Children are welcome – Coloring pages and a basket of toys will be available.

Youth Basketball – Registration Now Open
2015 Youth Basketball Registration 1st & 2nd Grade Division (co-ed) Thursday Evenings 3rd & 4th Grade Division (co-ed) Tuesday Evenings 5th & 6th Grade Division (co-ed) Wednesday Evenings Registration ends – November 13Registration Fees 1st and 2nd Grade – $26.00 5th and 6th Grade – $30.00
Our 1st & 2nd and 3rd & 4th grade divisions are very recreational and instructional, where volunteer coaches play a big part in teaching players basic basketball skills, teamwork, sportsmanship and how to have fun playing basketball!
Our 5th & 6th Grade division is a bit different from our younger divisions; we will draft all players onto teams to keep teams evenly matched. The draft practice is currently scheduled for Wednesday, December 9, at 5:30 p.m. at Lava Ridge.
Games are held weekday evenings at Lava Ridge Intermediate School or possibly Red Mountain Elementary
We will only be able to take the number of players that we have coaches for. If we have more players than we have coaches, we will issue refunds to those we do not have coaches for.

Public Works: Recent Articles
The Public Works Department is comprised of a public works director, city engineer, administrative assistant, field supervisor, and five public works operators.The department is responsible for the engineering, operation and maintenance of a culinary water system, sanitary sewer collection system, storm drain collection system, and an extensive street network. Ivins City contracts with Allied Waste Services for its solid waste collection. Trash is collected every Monday. Ivins City operates and maintains approximately 46 miles of sanitary sewer mains throughout the City containing nearly 1,300 sewer manholes. The City is not responsible for sewer laterals that service residences, rather the homeowner is responsible from the house to the sewer main.

About the Pet: As you can tell from Manny’s picture, he is not sure why he is at the shelter. Manny has a great personality and is very friendly. He loves people and does not have a trust issue. Manny is about a year old, so out of the puppy stage. Manny likes other dogs and enjoys playing. Do not judge Manny on his breed. He is a good boy. Manny is afraid of cats. The Santa Clara- Ivins City Police Department was created in July of 2012 and includes all aspects of Law Enforcement. The Police Department staff includes a Public Safety Director or Chief of Police, a Captain, two Patrol Sergeants, Detectives, School Resource Officers in Lava Ridge Intermediate School, Vista Charter School and Tuacahn High School, a Washington County Drug Task Force Investigator and Patrol Officers.
